Artemis Fowl: The Lost Colony by Eoin Colfer

Artemis Fowl: The Lost Colony by Eoin Colfer
Fantasy/Childrens

"Mud Boy" Artemis Fowl, elf Holly Short, centaur Foley, and the regular cast is back again for another round of saving the People. This time, there are demons popping up in the middle of crowded streets and Artemis determines that their world is starting to collapse on itself. Only magic and warlocks can save the demon race from human discovery.

We're introduced to a few new characters in this book and I hope they make appearances in the upcoming books because they were great additions. I also think the way the book ended opened up a lot of possibilities for the next book in the series.

First Line: "Happy was not a word often used to describe Artemis Fowl's bodyguard."

Artemis Fowl: The Opal Deception by Eoin Colfer

Artemis Fowl: The Opal Deception by Eoin Colfer
Children/Fantasy

Artemis Fowl and LEP Captain Holly Short are back for the forth installment of the Artemis Fowl series. The most dangerous enemy to the LEP, Opal Koboi, is seemingly catatonic and being held in a hospital. Yet things start to go very wrong, an LEP official is murdered and Short is framed to make it look like she killed him. Is Opal Koboi really behind this?

This series is a light read and is always entertaining. The imagination of how the underground technology works and the banter between Mulch Diggums (a dwarf that can chew through anything) and the rest of the characters really captures my interest. I'm looking forward to the next book in the series!

First Line: "We've all heard the official explanation for the tragic events surrounding the Zito Probe investigation."

Artemis Fowl: The Eternity Code by Eoin Colfer

Atemis Fowl: The Eternity Code by Eoin Colfer
Childrens/Fantasy

Artemis Fowl finds himself in trouble once again when he tries to make a business deal with a manipulative American business man, Spiro. Spiro steals Fowl's technology (which Fowl stole from the fairy community) and shoots his body guard, Butler. Fowl tricks the fairies into coming to help him out. Holly, a RECON elf, is dispatched to Fowl's location and ends up curing Butler and bringing him back to life.
However, this fairy technology cannot remain in Spiro's hands. Fowl, Butler, the fairies, and even Mulch Diggums come up with a plan to get this technology back.
This is book three in the Artemis Fowl series and doesn't disappoint. Infact, I think I enjoyed it more than the second book. It has some fun technology and entertaining exchanges between characters. Overall, an enjoyable book!

First Line: "Artemis Fowl was almost content."
