Memoir
This is a collection of autobiographical essays that are supposed to be hilarious. Unfortunately while I did find a couple amusing, hilarious they were not.
Sedaris has led a very offbeat life and most of the essays evoked sympathy rather than humour. I also found Sedaris to be rather full of himself. To be honest, I am not a fan of short stories and that might have been a bit of the problem.
First Line: "I'm thinking of asking the servants to wax my change before placing it in the Chinese tank I keep on my dresser."
