No Second Chance

No Second Chance by Harlan Coben
Audiobook-Mystery

Marc Sidman awakes in the hospital to find his wife murdered and his child kidnapped. What ensues is a great mystery. Marc fumbles two ransom attempts and eventually teams up with his former girlfriend and ex-FBI agent Rachel.
An interesting mystery with more plot twists and complications then you would think possible. This was a good mystery but the complications were a bit too much. One feels for Marc and his relentless pursuit of the bad guys. It is just that the bad guys seem to be everywhere. The cast of characters is numerous and the FBI/Police suspect Marc and then his former girlfriend Rachel
Favourite Character: Marc I liked his persistence and constancy even though the search took several months
Least Favourite Character: Rachel. I think she is somewhat of an opportunist and even though she wanted Marc back I felt it was a little late to be deciding this. To give her credit though she really does help in trying to find Tara
Best Part of the Book: The end. The twist is fantastic and I don't know what I would have done with Lenny's information
Worst Part of the Book: The part about the imigrant baby production was unnecessary and a further unneeded complication
What was missing: simplicity. Sometimes the complications got in the way of the story.
